Boys Soccer: Continental 1, Fort Jennings 0

On Thursday night the Pirates Boys Soccer team continued their defense of the Putnam County League Crown by traveling to Fort Jennings. In a game in which the Pirates controlled the action saw a single goal by one of the youngest players on the field make the difference. Pirate Freshman Westin Okuley found the back of the net at the 19 minute of the game for the only score. The Pirates defense held the Musketeers without a shot while the Pirates peppered the goal with 15 shots.

Continental moves to 6-0 (2-0 PCL) and will host undefeated Ottoville in a key league matchup on Monday. Fort Jennings falls to 0-6 (0-2 PCL). The Junior Varsity game ended in a scoreless tie.

Volley Ball: Tinora 3, Continental 0

On Thursday Continental VollyPirates hosted Tinora in a non-league match-up. The Pirates attempt to stop a 2 game losing streak failed as the Rams completed a 3 game sweep. The Rams took the first game 25-20 and the second game 25-17. The Rams went home as match winner with a 25-189 tally in the third game.

Jessica Stauffer had 21 assists for the Pirates while Amber Logan had 12 kills and Hannah Troyer had 15 digs to lead the Pirates.

Continental falls to 4-4 and will travel to Lima Temple Christian on Saturday in a non-league match. Tinora improves to 7-0. The Rams swept the Junior Varsity contest 2-0.
