On Saturday, Continental High School Boys Basketball team traveled to Lima to take on the Temple Christian Pioneers in non league action. An early start time for the game also had the Pirates off to an early start as they outscored the Pioneers by 3 to take a 14-11 lead after 1. The Pirates expanded their lead to 5 at half by taking a 28-23 lead into the locker room. Scoring continued the Pirates way as the Pirates won the third quarter by 1 for a 44-38 lead. The fourth quarter belonged to the Pioneers as they put in 21 points to the Pirates 11 for a 59-55 Temple Christian final.
Caleb Olds led the Pirates with 23 points while Nick States had 13 points. Tyler Brecht had 8 points, Reid Warnement 6, an Mitch Coleman 5. Olds made six 3 pointers while States and Coleman both made one.
Continental falls to 0-2 and will travel to Hicksville on Friday. Temple Christian moves to 1-1.
