Columbus Grove 3, Continental 0

On Tuesday night Columbus Grove took only 3 games to defeat the host Pirates in Putnam County League action. The first game had the Bulldogs with a 25-16 advantage. The second game went to the Dogs 25-7. The night ended early for the Pirates as Grove completed the sweep 25-12. Continental is now 4-3 (0-1 PCL) and will host Tinora on Thursday. Columbus Grove is now 3-1 (1-1 PCL).

Girls Soccer

Continental 5, Fort Jennings 2

Tuesday had the Pirates start defense of their Putnam County League Girls Soccer crown hosting Fort Jennings. Continental started the game out strong taking a 2-1 lead into the halftime break. A Pirate 2 goal advantage in the second half left the final score at Pirates 5 Musketeers 2. Alex Hoeffel led the Pirates with 4 goals while Riley Fenter added a single goal. The Pirates out shot the Musketeers 22-11. Pirate Goalie Angel Brzozowski had 6 saves in the win.

Continental is now 3-2 (1-0 PCL) and will host Defiance on Saturday at 1:00. Fort Jennings in now 2-3 (0-1 PCL). This game was broadcast on Sportslive. Congrats to z sports live pizza hut player of the game Alex Hoeffel of Continental with her 4 goals in the pirates 5-2 win over Ft Jennings.

Boys Soccer

Continental 2, Lima Temple Christian 1

On Tuesday Continental Boys soccer team traveled to North Lima to take on the Temple Christian Pioneers in non-league action. The Pirates left as a 2-1 victor as Christian Perez and Tyler Brecht both hit the back of the net for the Pirates. Perez got an assist credit on the Brecht goal. Continental outshot the Pioneers 10-5 with Pirate Goalie Trevor Brecht making 4 saves.

Continental improves to 5-0 and will travel to Fort Jennings on Thursday for a PCL game. Lima Temple Christian is now 4-2.
