Maag, Meyer and Homier To Lead the Pirates Boys Basketball Program

Columbus Grove Alum Eric Maag was officially hired as the Continental High School Boys Basketball Varsity Program Head Coach. In 2006 Maag was a key piece of the Bulldog team that were the Division IV Basketball State Runner-up. On their way to State, the Bulldogs took out the Pirates in the Regional Final. Maag is a 2007 graduate of Columbus Grove and a 2011 graduate of Ohio Northern University. He served as Bulldog Junior Varsity coach from 2011-2015 and was the interim Varsity Coach in 2015-2016. The Bulldogs were 11-12 that year and finished runner up in the Putnam County league. Maag replaces Kurtis Brown who was 41-50 over 4 years as the Pirates Varsity Coach.

Kyle Meyer, a teammate on the 2006 Bulldog team, will be the Varsity Assistant Coach. Meyer was an NCAA Division III All American at Ohio Northern. Adding additional State Basketball experience to the coaching staff is Brock Homier. Homier played on the Pirates 2011 State team and will serve as the Junior Varsity Coach.
