The last time Continental and Ottoville played in a Girls Varsity action was in the 2017 Sectional Final with Ottoville prevailing 61-19 starting their trip to the Division IV State Semifinals. On Thursday history repeated itself as the Big Green prevailed with an identical 61-19 score in a Putnam County League game at the Cove. Action went Ottoville’s way early as they out pointed the Pirates 16-5 in the first quarter. A strong Big Green defense held the Pirates to a two points in the second while they put in 14 for a 30-7 Big Green advantage at half. The third quarter had the Pirate put in 8 point but the Big Green expanded their lead by an additional 13 to make it 51-15. The Pirates held Ottoville to 10 points in the fourth but the final went the Big Green way 61-19.
Addyson Armey scored 9 points to lead the Pirates while Amber Logan contributed 5. Kaitlyn Alvarado and Alex Hoeffel both had 2 points while Maddie Burke had 1 point. Armey hit one 3 point shot for the Pirates
Continental moves to 1-11 (0-2 PCL) and will travel to Fort Jennings on Thursday. Ottoville is now 14-0 (3-0 PCL). Ottoville is currently ranked 6th in the Associated Press Division IV poll.
