On Thursday night the Continental High School Girls Basketball team traveled to Hicksville for some nonleague competition. Action did not go the Pirates way in the first half as the Aces opened up a 18-4 lead after one and outscored the Pirates by 11 in the second for a 31-6 Aces lead at half. The Pirate offense showed more life in the second half as the put in 7 in the third to the Aces 11 for a 42-13 score after three. A closer fourth quarter also went the Aces way 11-9. Final score Aces 53, Pirates 22.
Amber Logan led the Pirates with 6 points while Alex Hoeffel had 5. Kaitlyn Alvarado had 4 points, Brooke Bradford 3, and Addyson Armey and Maddy Burke both had 2. Hoeffel and Bradford both made one 3 point shot.
The Pirates fall to 0-2 and will travel to Columbus Grove on Tuesday for a Putnam County League game. Hicksville moves to 1-1.
The Junior Varsity Girls won 28-21 in double overtime. The Pirate JVs are 1-1.
