2017 Soccer District Honors – Boys/Girls/Referee

Boys Soccer:
Christian Keller led the Continental Pirates with a first team Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association North West District nomination. Keller was a key component on the defense for the Pirates who finished the season 11-3-2 and a Putnam County League Co-Championship. Keller is a Senior, he was joined with all District honors with fellow Pirate Seniors Chris Potts and Trevor Brecht. Potts and Brecht were named all District Honorable Mention.

Chris Potts was awarded a Northwest District Academic Award for having a GPA of 3.7 and above.

Girls Soccer All District:
The Pirates high scoring forward duo of Alex Hoeffel and Kaitlyn Alvarado were placed on the first two teams. Hoeffel, a Sophomore, was named to the first team while Senior Alvarado was named to the second team. Juniors Riley Fenter and Sierra Prowant were named all District Honorable Mention.

District All Star game:
The NWOSSCA all star game will be held this Sunday with action starting at noon. Boys kick off at noon. Girls follow at 2. Game was originally schedule for Findlay High School but was moved to Allen East High School due to storm damage at the Findlay site. Awards will be handed out between the games.

Referee of the year:
Eric Deken, CHS Alum, was selected as the Referee of the year for Northwest Ohio. He is in his 5th year of officiating and has been involved in soccer since he was 6 years old. He is being recognized for this dedication to the game of soccer and overall excellence as a high school soccer official. Congrats Eric!
